Western NC Hurricane Helene Small Business Grant Relief Fund

Program Overview

Provide financial relief to minority and women-owned businesses in Western North Carolina impacted by Hurricane Helene.


Eligibility Criteria


Grants range: $5,000–$10,000

Business Operation preferences:

  • Be minority- or women-owned
  • Registered and operational for at least one year before Hurricane Helene (verified through NC Secretary of State status)

Documentation Requirements:

  • 2023 business tax returns
  • Year-to-date (YTD) profit and loss (P&L) statement for 2024.
  • Proof of economic or physical loss due to Hurricane Helene (e.g., photos of structural damage, financial impact statements).
  • Copy of valid government issued ID
  • Certifications: HUB certified businesses encouraged to apply

Approval Process:

  • Applications reviewed through ICAP's internal approval system to ensure eligibility
  • Additional site visits conducted if necessary for verification
  • Grant amount will be based on year over year revenue (loss) comparison between 2023 and 2024. Formula will  calculate grant amount, i.e., $5000 or $10,000
Selection Priority

  • Businesses with substantial documented losses
  • Those that demonstrate a strong ability to recover with financial support
